HPE Foundation Relaunches Community Impact Grants to Drive Deeper Impact
Approximately six years ago, the HPE Foundation launched our Community Impact Grants program as part of our commitment to advance the way people live and work. In 2020, however, we decided to pause this program out of a desire to evaluate and improve our focus, approach, and effectiveness in addressing social challenges in the communities where we live and work.
I am excited to announce that in 2023, the HPE Foundation relaunched our Community Impact Grants portfolio with a refreshed framework that drives deeper impact and engagement. Through Community Impact Grants, HPE team members have the opportunity to nominate and support non-profits, creating scalable impact, strengthening communities across the globe. These grants provide recipients with the resources to engage and develop stronger relationships with their communities.
Through Community Impact Grants, we are changing the power dynamics that determine which nonprofits are supported and how they are selected. Our approach empowers HPEโs team members who are in close proximity to the unique challenges of their communities and engaging directly with local nonprofits that are innovating solutions to urgent societal challenges. Community Impact Grants represent a true partnership between an organization on the frontline, our team members sharing their time and talents, as well as HPE and the HPE Foundation.
Our Community Impact Grant recipients are addressing pressing issues from healthcare to human rights. I am pleased to announce the recipients of the HPE Foundationโs FY23 Q1 Community Impact Grants:
- South County Community Clinic (USA): South County Community Clinic, dba Interfaith Community Clinic (ICC) opened its doors in 1996 to meet the medical needs of the uninsured population. Today, the clinic provides quality medical and dental care, counseling and patient service assistance to qualified, uninsured individuals in need.
- Emmeline's Pantry (UK): Emmelineโs Pantry supports women and families and provide a pathway out of poverty. Many of the women who visit Emmelineโs Pantry have fled domestic violence or trafficking or are escaping from modern day slavery.
- Fundacion Accion Joven (Costa Rica): A non-profit foundation created in 2006 to support young people in contexts of high social vulnerability. Fundacion Accion Joven works with passion, opening new opportunities to today's youth.
Our Community Impact Grants will allow these nonprofit partners to update much needed technology, increase the frequency and capacity of their services, and reach more people in their communities. A big thank you to these inspirational organizations, and to our team members who nominated and work with them. Global challenges require local solutions. By engaging with our team members, communities, and these nonprofits to address urgent challenges of our day, we live our culture of being a Force for Good and can truly advance the way people live and work.
