Learn how you can advance your Sustainable IT initiatives at HPE Discover 2023
We don’t have to tell you that sustainability has become a mainstream topic- whether in board rooms, in public policy, and for every enterprise across the globe. While it used to be viewed as an isolated initiative, embracing sustainability across your organization, including IT, can actually be a catalyst for your business, driving cost savings, enabling stronger market performance and creating better brand differentiation in the long-run. By aligning their technology strategies with sustainability initiatives, organizations are growing stronger and more nimble, meaning they can better accelerate data-first modernization strategies. According to Gartner®, 86% of business leaders see sustainability as an investment which protects their organization from disruption. In turn, four out of five leaders indicated that sustainability helped their organization to optimize and reduce costs, and 83% also indicated their sustainability program activities directly created both short- and long-term value for their organization[1]. Organizations of all sizes have announced plans to reach their sustainability targets but making progress towards those goals is not simple. Challenges often include lack of visibility and metrics, a shortage of specialized expertise, and an escalating and complex regulatory environment.
IT departments, which are a significant driver of carbon emissions within most companies, will increasingly be held accountable for aggressive emissions reductions; and yet, IT experts struggle with in-house capabilities to decrease these impacts. Because of this, IT leaders are looking to their vendors’ advisory as their main source for efficiency and sustainability knowledge. Our expertise in partnering throughout the lifecycle of our relationship with customers to help them achieve their sustainable IT objectives is a key reason why organizations choose HPE.
HPE Discover 2023 is coming up at the end of this month, and if you’re joining us in Vegas, look for the Sustainability track in the catalog as you build your agenda. Here are some incredible sessions you won’t want to miss:
In her session, Sustainability: Your game changer and change maker, (SL5651) Monica Batchelder, Chief Sustainability Officer, will be joined by Sune Tornbo Baastrup, SVP and CIO of Danfoss as they highlight why CIOs should drive sustainable IT initiatives and how they can balance those initiatives with other business priorities. She’ll also be joined by leaders across HPE who consistently engage with large global organizations to deep dive on challenges, best practices, and sustainable IT solutions. Over decades HPE has focused on the environmental impacts of our solutions and have built one of the most innovative Sustainable IT portfolios to help you advance towards your climate goals. This session will be available for replay after the event.
John Frey, Chief Technologist, Sustainable Transformation, will cover the 5 Key efficiency areas to drive Sustainable IT in your organization (TT6015). “One of the things that many customers don’t appreciate is that about 80%+ of enterprise technology equipment’s impact is when it’s in use – so it’s really important to focus on efficiency and sustainability throughout the use phase,” guides John. Other topics include the five key efficiency areas that technology organizations can improve to support their sustainable IT initiatives. By improving these areas organizations can lower costs significantly, lower power consumption significantly and increase employee satisfaction.
Tiffani Jarnigan, Director, Sustainability Innovation and Partnerships, will join panel T6155, Technology that makes technology sustainable with our partners Samsung and Equinix.
On the show floor, we will have some incredible demos that will give you a chance to see an up-close look at the latest sustainable IT innovations like Project Sustainability Dashboard!
Look out for more exciting announcements at HPE Discover 2023 – we can’t wait to have you there!
