Digital transformation and the SAP S/4HANA transition
Digital transformation creates agility and agility is essential to success. That’s why more manufacturers have made digital transformation a top strategic priority.
Of course, digital transformation is no small task. If you’re running SAP applications, you understand the critical nature of your workloads and may wish to keep them in your data center. You’re not alone. An estimated 70% of SAP HANA customers are looking to keep their workloads on-premises. At the same time, all are keenly aware of the 2027 deadline to upgrade to the SAP S/4HANA platform.
Dual and simultaneous challenge
Many manufacturers face this dual and simultaneous challenge—invest in digital transformation and transition to the SAP S/4HANA platform. For help in sorting out the complexities of transformation and transition, I recommend joining Hewlett Packard Enterprise in attendance at SAP SAPPHIRE NOW 2021.
This massive virtual event kicks off on June 2, 2021, with the Global Keynote followed by regional sessions for the Americas (NA, LAC) and EMEA on June 7-10, and for Asia Pacific (ANZ, India, and South East Asia) on June 20-22.
Unleash the full potential of your SAP investments
As the #1 SAP HANA market leader, HPE is delighted to be a Gold Sponsor of SAP SAPPHIRE NOW 2021. Please visit the HPE Showcase and make sure to attend three great sessions with HPE participation on topics critical to transformation and transition.
Flexibility and choice
The first session on June 7 explores how to “Gain Manufacturing agility with SAP HANA as a service with HPE GreenLake HPE” (IND606). Tom Bradicich PhD, Hewlett Packard Fellow, and Keith White, HPE GreenLake General Manager, discuss how HPE GreenLake for SAP HANA gives companies flexibility and choice in consuming IT, freeing up investment for their core business.
Pay only for what you use
HPE GreenLake brings the cloud experience to data and apps wherever they reside—in production facilities, colocations, or the enterprise data center. It takes the consumability of SAP solutions to a new level by metering the consumption at lower levels of granularity, so you pay only for what you use.
Accelerate transition to SAP S/4HANA with design, implementation, and operational services from HPE Pointnext Services. This will that simplify deployment through the scalable, pay-per-use HPE GreenLake model in your own data center or co-location.
Cloud agility on premises
HPE GreenLake for SAP HANA includes SAP-certified hardware, operating system, and services that are pay-per-use, scalable, and can be self-managed via HPE GreenLake Management Central or operated for you—providing cloud agility while keeping your SAP landscape on-premises.
Another deployment option is SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private edition, customer data center built on HPE GreenLake with monthly subscription-based pricing from SAP.
Both platforms enable complete, purpose-built, and pre-configured solutions for manufacturing based on SAP HANA delivered as a service.
Superior performance and agility
These offerings from HPE, together with our partners SAP, Intel, and SUSE, deliver superior performance and agility by running your mission-critical workloads on some of the biggest and fastest bare metal appliances available today, all in a pay-per-use model with HPE GreenLake. In addition, they include SAP-certified hardware, operating system, and services; and your choice of configurations (appliance or TDI).
One experience and one operating model
The second session on June 7 is called “Create growth and differentiation with an everything as a service model” (IND107). Satish Maktal from SAP and HPE’s Keith White show how HPE transformed from a provider of IT infrastructure products into a leading provider of business outcomes through as-a-service models. Hear how HPE uses SAP solutions to enable one experience and one operating model across distributed clouds.
Transforming the supply chain
The third session on June 10 is titled “Touchless trading structure to provide Tax Advantage Model for fulfilment” (FIN214) with Daryl Ganas, VP & BU CIO, global BU, Sales & Operations at HPE, and Falgun Modi, Senior Manager, Deloitte Consulting Product Service. You’ll learn how Deloitte Consulting’s NextGen IT program transformed the HPE supply chain enabling streamlined order fulfilment and a tax advantage model.
Automated and real-time
The implementation has automated creation of purchase requisitions, stock transport orders, and purchase orders across sales offices, consolidation and distribution centers, factory plants, and external suppliers. The benefits are rounded out with an automated returns process and real-time synch of order changes and cancellations with supplier confirmations.
Technological advancement and operational agility
The as-a-service model epitomized by HPE GreenLake gives you flexibility and choice about how to manage and consume IT. It enables you to keep pace with the demands of your business, frees you to focus on digital transformation, and enables you to carry out your SAP HANA® transition in a manner that’s easy, secure, and cost-effective. It ultimately reduces risk and puts you at the cutting edge of technological advancement and operational agility.
