Draw down Microsoft Azure Commitments (MACC) with HPE GreenLake
Jim Stevens, - Global Director of Strategic Sales, HPE
HPE GreenLake for Azure Stack HCI and Azure Arc accelerates the draw down of Azure commitments by enabling Azure services on-premises through integrated and validated HPE ProLiant systems delivering a unified Azure experience.
Committed spend agreements, such as Microsoft Azure Consumption Commitment (MACC), are a convenient way to prepay for cloud services in return for discounted pricing. For large organizations with multiyear MACC contracts, committed spend provides a deep reserve of unused budget. It may also inspire frenetic attempts to draw down the commitments before the โuse it or lose itโ deadline passes.
Many organizations made sizable commitments to major cloud providers before the recent period of economic volatility. If youโre one of them, you may still be looking for ways to burn down significant portions of your commitment to avoid a shortfall payment at the end of the contract term.
HPE GreenLake for Azure Stack HCI and Azure Arc has your answer, by rapidly enabling Azure services and a true hybrid cloud experience.
To start, Azure Stack HCI hosts workloads in a hybrid environment that includes on-premises or colocated HPE infrastructure and Azure cloud services. It combines the agility and scalability benefits of Azure public cloud with the control, performance, and security of on-premises deployments.
With Azure Stack HCI on integrated and validated HPE GreenLake systems, you can run virtualized and cloud-native applications at cloud scale using the same management and automation services for Azure cloud. That means you can run workloads on-premises, at the edge, or in Azure cloud while leveraging familiar Azure tools and services with an integrated system that takes the guesswork out of Azure Stack HCI deployment.
Consuming the solution as a service with the HPE GreenLake edge-to-cloud platform enhances IT speed and agility and lets you off-load the burden of operating IT while only paying for the resources you use. With HPE GreenLake integrated Azure systems, there are no multiyear licensing requirements and no upfront commitments for Azure subscription purchases. Even better, you can work with HPE as your single partner to deploy, license, advise, manage, and support your entire Azure estate.
If youโre already using Azure for public cloud, itโs easy to take advantage of the simplicity and cost benefits of an Azure hybrid cloud managed by HPE GreenLake. HPE GreenLake for Microsoft Azure Stack HCI offers you a choice of ready-to-go integrated configurations based on HPE ProLiant servers tested, optimized, and validated with Azure Stack HCI to deliver reliable performance and high availability.
And hereโs the kicker. HPE GreenLake for Azure Stack HCI solutions provide consistency with Microsoft Azure public cloud services, meaning you can leverage Azure services on your HPE GreenLake systems. Through HPE GreenLake, Azure services are delivered on demand to reduce time to value. And these services count toward your MACCโstarting when you plug the server in. You read that right: Azure cloud services, such as Defender for security or Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) for VDI, impacting a MACC, are immediately available when deployed by HPE GreenLake. Azure services are available with the same pay-per-use, consumption-based pricing as in the Azure public cloud. Upon HPE GreenLake installation, those services are available and immediately impact MACC by consuming against the commitment to achieve the discounts.
Unlike any of our competitors, HPE is the only vendor capable of enabling Azure services impacting MACC from the data center to the edge through integrated HPE GreenLake for Azure Stack HCI systems, which pull from our extensive portfolio of storage, compute, and services. We offer an incredibly broad choice of systems for the data center (based on cloud modules) and the edge (based on HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen11) along with a wide variety of validated systems that can be customized to deliver Azure services through HPE GreenLake. HPE is capable of supporting a range of modern use cases including AI, VDI, hybrid cloud, virtual machine migrations, containers, high-performance computing (HPC), sustainability, and more.
Drawing down your MACC has never been easier or more rewarding.
