HPE GreenLake for Microsoft Azure Stack HCI: data-powered innovation from edge to cloud
Itโs clear that the next wave of digital transformation will be fueled by apps and data everywhere, especially at the edge. And while many organizations value the flexibility and ease of use of the cloud, I read recently that 70% of apps and data still live outside the public cloud.[1] IT leaders cite the need for compliance, data sovereignty, economics, customization, and performance not available through the public cloud as their reasons for remaining on-premisesโwhether thatโs in a data center, in a colocation, or at the edge.
To continue generating value from more data across an increasingly distributed environment, a Hybrid Cloud environment is essential for organizations to get the cloud experience wherever they need it while reducing costs and accommodating business growth to fuel digital transformation.
All of this is to introduce why Hewlett Packard Enterprise just announced weโre expanding our HPE GreenLake cloud services portfolio for Hybrid Cloud and data with the Microsoft Azure Stack HCI integrated system, a complete solution thatโs pre-built and configured for faster deployment and easier integration. The integrated system includes scalable hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI), software, and services, all delivered as a service from HPE GreenLake:
- Azure Stack HCI is a software-defined HCI operating system delivered as an Azure service. It provides the latest security, performance, and hybrid capabilities, which now include Azure Arc enablement and new management scenarios through the Azure portal.
- The integrated solution is built on an HPE GreenLake Lighthouse cloud-native infrastructure that incorporates compute, storage, and networking to run Azure services on-premises.
- The HPE GreenLake edge-to-cloud platform is the cloud that comes to you, delivering a cloud experience and operating model for applications and workloads across your edges, data centers, colocations, and clouds to deliver flexibility, scalability, and ease of operation wherever your apps and data live.
The complete solution provides a cloud experience that allows users to run Windows virtual machines in a Hybrid Cloud environment, on-premises, in a colocation facility, and at the edge, and uses Azure tools and services with a preconfigured, pay-per-use service from HPE GreenLake. Customers will benefit from extensive HPE expertise in Windows and Azure, and with the option of HPE as the Azure CSP, customers get one invoice and one accountable partner to support Hybrid Cloud.
