HPE GreenLake for Nutanix
Run your edge-to-cloud business everywhere with a next-generation hybrid cloud solution
In today's digital landscape, enterprises are constantly seeking innovative solutions to enhance their operations, reduce costs, and improve data management. HPE GreenLake for Nutanix presents an all-encompassing infrastructure solution that caters specifically to the needs of IT.
This blog post explores how HPE GreenLake combines the power of a Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure with software-defined storage (HCI/SDS) capabilities, database as a service (DBaaS), virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), and general-purpose virtualization (AHV) to deliver unparalleled flexibility, scalability, and cost efficiency.
Meeting the demands of your business isn’t easy
Even if your IT organization is considered technologically advanced, none of your technology investments will matter if your IT can’t effectively respond to the real-time needs of the business. Success in today’s marketplace requires IT organizations to transition from a pure technology focus to one that focuses on the business as a whole, which enables your respective business to reach its objectives.
Another critical success factor is offloading low-value tasks from in-house IT personnel whose time would be much better spent meeting the escalating demands of your lines of business.
For a rapidly growing number of enterprises, a hybrid cloud environment is the answer to these (and many other) challenges. With a right-mix hybrid cloud solution, considering both public and private cloud initiatives, your organization can look forward to:
- Uniting the business with traditional on-premises IT and cloud-native business models
- Supporting collaboration across business units, geographies, and IT silos
- Enabling IT to take center stage to meet business objectives
- Better aligning resources to line-of-business requirements and demands
- Enabling the business to become more resilient by leveraging hybrid cloud resources
The hybrid cloud solution you need from industry leaders you trust
To help make the benefits of hybrid cloud a reality, HPE—the edge-to-cloud company—and Nutanix—a leader in hybrid multicloud computing—offer a co-developed, best-of-breed portfolio of future-focused hybrid cloud solutions. Using HPE GreenLake for Nutanix, your company can meet the growing demands of your distributed enterprise while accelerating digital modernization and simplifying the IT infrastructure. The result: improved performance and efficiency through centralized management, one-click operations, and AI-driven automation.
HPE GreenLake for Nutanix is a proven way to gain the advantages of a Nutanix deployment—modernizing data centers, running applications at scale, and powering fully managed hybrid cloud environments—on a pay-as-you-go consumption basis via HPE GreenLake.
These solutions are integrated on current and next-generation HPE ProLiant DX servers optimized for Nutanix software deployments and backed by HPE GreenLake services. These modular solutions are jointly engineered and offered as integrated systems in a customer-defined unit of measure, delivered as a service via a consumption-based model.
Delivering a solution-based approach
Working together, HPE and Nutanix offer hybrid cloud services that address the following use cases.
Private cloud
HPE GreenLake for Nutanix—Private Cloud enables you to spin up cloud-based services from dedicated IT infrastructure inside your organization. With this solution, you can reliably deliver applications and data at any scale, as well as provision, update, and perform disaster recovery with one click—while also enabling end-user computing, database management, dev/test, ROBO environments, and big data analytics.
Databases
HPE GreenLake for Nutanix—Databases is designed to consolidate disparate workloads into one efficient management platform by streamlining database deployment, management, and operations. With just one click, you can rapidly provision, clone, patch, refresh, and perform backups, while the pay-as-you-go model drastically reduces expenses by eliminating up-front costs.
End-user computing
HPE GreenLake for Nutanix—End-User Computing offers an effective means of distributing new applications via a software-as-a-service model (SaaS). Through SaaS, you can enjoy additional support for bring-your-own-device (BYOD) and choose-your-own-device (CYOD) programs, enabling IT to supply users with the applications they need—when they need them—while at the same time strengthening security. You can start small and quickly scale without having to re-architect the environment.
The HPE GreenLake for Nutanix offerings have recently been updated to include the following Nutanix software.
Nutanix Era—Automates and simplifies database management, bringing one-click simplicity and invisible operations to database provisioning and lifecycle management. Nutanix Era eliminates management complexity, allowing administrators to innovate instead of troubleshooting problems. The software also dramatically improves uptime, reduces tedious manual operations, and increases cost efficiency—making one-click simplicity across clouds and clusters a reality.
Nutanix Files—Provides a repository for unstructured data such as home directories, user profiles, departmental shares, application logs, backups, and archives. Nutanix Files can run on a dedicated cluster or be colocated on a cluster running user virtual machines (VMs).
Nutanix Objects—Non-disruptively scales out while lowering overall costs. Nutanix Objects is designed for backup, long-term retention/archiving, and cross-region DevOps teams. Nutanix Objects is deployed and managed as part of the Nutanix Enterprise Cloud OS; it enables users of the Nutanix platform to store and manage unstructured data on top of a highly scalable hyperconverged architecture such as HPE GreenLake.
AOS VDI—Facilitates simplified management, linear scaling, and predictable performance for virtual desktop deployments. Seats are configured and billed based on the performance and capacity needs of each user.
The collaboration between HPE GreenLake and Nutanix HCI delivers a compelling value proposition, unlocking numerous financial and operational benefits for organizations. By leveraging the flexibility of the HPE GreenLake consumption model, businesses can align IT spending with actual usage, optimizing costs and improving cash flow. Nutanix HCI, with its comprehensive suite of offerings, including Nutanix VDI, Nutanix DBaaS, and Nutanix AHV, empowers organizations to enhance user experiences, simplify data management, and drive efficient virtualization. The combination of HPE GreenLake and Nutanix HCI creates a powerful synergy, enabling businesses to navigate the digital landscape with agility and success.
