What’s in store for HPE at NRF 2025
HPE sets up shop at NRF 2025, January 12 through 14, at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City, booth #4967. HPE has been stocking valuable tech for the retail industry for some time, in particular, enabling the evolution of the retail branch to become a highly intelligent and data-rich environment. Team members from the Intelligent Edge business unit will be there on the floor talking about how they are helping customers modernize their networks. Info on the HPE event presence, along with when to see them speak, how to schedule a meeting, and how to register for an exclusive AI reception is here.
Beyond the edge, HPE has a range of Hybrid Cloud products and solutions that live in the core datacenter and enable retail operations with AI infrastructure, hybrid cloud database analytics, Azure hybrid cloud infrastructure, and mission critical data storage.
Hybrid Cloud solutions for Retail
The HPE Hybrid Cloud team empowers retailers around the world with our line of data storage and data protection-related products and solutions. HPE has recently delivered solutions for a large European-based fast fashion company, a leading US-based premium kitchen and housewares provider, a Mexican convenience store chain, and a well-known American department store holding company. Here’s an inventory of some key offerings serving retailers:
- HPE Private Cloud AI for Retail – HPE Private Cloud AI (PCAI) is a full-stack private cloud infrastructure offering that simplifies the management of fragmented technologies and accelerates time-to-value for AI initiatives by boosting efficiency of AI programs.. This turnkey solution is designed to harness data for real time insights and automation. PCAI enables many retail applications including personalized customer service through AI-powered chatbots, optimized stock levels with dynamic forecasting and inventory management, dynamic pricing, and theft prevention. More info on this solution is available here.
- Azure Arc-enabled SQL Server on HPE Alletra Storage MP B10000 – This solution, born from our most recent work involving Microsoft SQL Server, empowers retailers with more efficient ways to connect on-premises databases to the Azure cloud. By enabling seamless data integration for transactional operations, advanced analytics, and omnichannel retail initiatives, it helps businesses optimize resource allocation and reduce operational costs. Here are a couple resources to enable a deeper dive on the topic: Solution team blog and a detailed ‘how-to’ deployment guide.
- Azure Local on the HPE Alletra Storage Server 4110 – Built around the product formerly known as “Azure Stack HCI”, it has become a favorite among retailers. Azure Local clusters are being used to host point of sale, shopper loyalty and surveillance systems to name a few uses. By enabling real-time data processing and reducing reliance on off-site cloud services, Azure Local helps retailers lower operational costs, improve system reliability, and enhance customer satisfaction. The Hybrid Cloud team focused on Microsoft workloads has produced a number of related resources, including a Windows Admin Center (WAC) extension for Azure Local demo video, along with a configuration guide and updated solution brief.
- Video surveillance for Retail – HPE has a number of established solutions for Video surveillance, which are especially relevant for retailers dealing with a rise in shoplifting. Many retailers, like Home Depot, an HPE customer, are investing in how best to combat this threat, with enhanced security and advanced technology. Here's a technical whitepaper on an HPE Video surveillance solution designed for very long video data retention time and limited space environments.
