Data protection for heterogeneous IT environments with HPE hyperconverged and Micro Focus
Businesses today face a dilemma. On the one hand, data is critical to the bottom line and data protection is more important than ever. On the other, businesses cannot afford to invest much time in protection processes, instead asking IT organizations to focus on innovation. The technologies used for data protection must not only be resilient and ensure business continuity, they must also be simple to deploy and use, requiring very little time each week. Hours spent on backup and recovery activities take time and energy away from revenue generation.
HPE and Micro Focus have partnered to deliver an enterprise grade, hyperconverged backup and disaster recovery solution that addresses the need for both data protection and innovation. The new solution applies to a broad range of business needs, from remote edge sites to large, complex, heterogeneous IT environments.
- HPE SimpliVity hyperconverged infrastructure powered by Intelยฎ includes built-in data protection and resiliency features. Designed to absorb component failures while still keeping data available, the platform also provides the ability to easily recover data should loss occur. Local backups and restores are guaranteed to happen in 60 seconds or less.
- Built on an adaptive architecture that combines security and analytics, Micro Focus Data Protector supports tape, physical, virtual and cloud media as well as protecting structured and unstructured data, operating systems, critical applications and virtual machines. Organizations can deploy Data Protector to back up data between HPE SimpliVity and non-HPE SimpliVity environments, and for application-specific heterogeneous storage environments.
For full solution details, read the Micro Focus blog.
