HPE Cloud Volumes Backup with HPE SimpliVity: True edge-to-cloud data protection
Thanks to innovation in the latest software release, HPE SimpliVity hyperconverged infrastructure is now integrated with HPE Cloud Volumes Backup, providing a true data protection solution that extends from on-premises arrays to the cloud.
The shift to the edge is here. More and more companies are pushing their data and workloads to the edge. The industry has taken note of this shift as well, but the problem is that most IT solution vendors are not trying to develop for the edge. Instead, they take their existing core offerings and position these as โmade for the edgeโ. The truth is they are not made for the edge โ they are made for the core and sold for the edge. Why do I mention this? To underline the intrinsic value of HPE SimpliVity hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI).
HPE SimpliVity was designed โ right from inception โ with the edge top of mind. Data efficiency is built-in as the foundation of the platform. This data efficiency allows you to move your data to where you need it, whether it is located at the edge or the core. As well as data efficiency HPE SimpliVity includes integrated data protection. No need to install additional software to perform necessary functions, such as backup and recovery.
These built-in features save time and money, but how can we say that it is a true edge-to-cloud solution for data protection?
The latest release of HPE SimpliVity software introduced integration with HPE Cloud Volumes Backup. This winning combination lets you back-up directly from your edge location to the cloud. There is no intermediary required, no need for additional hardware or cloud gateways. With those same right-click actions you have come to love, you can backup directly to the cloud.
And it gets even better.
HPE Cloud Volumes Backup enables organizations to easily extend data protection to the cloud. It makes backup effortless so you can move your backup infrastructure to the cloud โ in a few clicks โ without changing existing workflows. HPE Cloud Volumes Backup acts independently to the hyperscalers out there. Your data is freed up, not locked into a single cloud environment where you must pay just to look at it. The fact is, with this edge-to-cloud solution you only pay for the data you store and there are no egress charges if you want to restore your data. You want your data back, you restore it. We wonโt hold the data hostage and make you pay to retrieve it.
HPE Cloud Volumes Backup eliminates complexity by freeing IT from the day-to-day hassles and costs of data protection and infrastructure management. Built on the proven HPE StoreOnce Catalyst protocol, data can be backed up, compressed, and deduplicated against the backup store. This means that when your data is backed up, it is done so in a super efficient way. A perfect option for those edge locations that donโt have the same bandwidth as the core data center.
This combination of HPE SimpliVity and HPE Cloud Volumes Backup is a TRUE edge to cloud solution: simple, efficient, and cost-effective. In my opinion, you wonโt find a better solution for the modern era of workloads.
You donโt have to take my word for it. You can try it for free! Discover how you can get 10Tb free and a $3,500 credit on HPE Cloud Volumes.
