Hi,
I am looking to upgrade from vSphere 6.7 to vSphere 7.X a dHCI stack - version 1.34
What is the pathway for such upgrade :
- "magical" Upgrade button in a future release of dHCI ....
- a long journey of upgrading manually all the components
Any info would be helpful
Thanks

We just went through this with HPE support. It was not an easy upgrade.

Re: dHCI - How to upgrade from vSphere 6.7 to 7.0
hello PhilippeC, where you able to easily and successfully update your dHCI to VM 7.0?
what was the sequence? Vcenter first, the the ESXi nodes, then the Nimble firmware?
I was requested to perform such upgrade and couldn't find much info on this upgrade process, any feedback from you is welcomed...

SolutionHello,
(To use the dHCI Single Click Update feature, you need VMware vSphere Enterprise Plus.)
First, you update vCenter from 6.7 to 7.0.2b or higher.
After that, the dHCI Single Click Update function should show one or more enabled catalog entries.
NOTE: The Update catalog numbering format has changed from 1.xx to 5.5.xx.yy.zz. Use the expanded catalog format numbers going forward.
If after updating vCenter no catalog is enabled, contact Nimble Support.
Alternatively, if you do not have vSphere Enterprise Plus you can update manually,
- Update vCenter - (at the time of this writing, 7.0.3d )
- Update the array
- Apply the Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) - boot the SPP .ISO and wait... (and wait...).
- Update each server:
Update ESX using the HPE image
- Install NCM (SCM) - See the VMware Integration Guide for instructions
Regards

Re: dHCI - How to upgrade from vSphere 6.7 to 7.0
Hello Luis,
Thank you for pushing up the question, HPE Expert made a clear reply
and I haven't yet made the upgrade. I planned it for the end of this summer.
Best regards

Re: dHCI - How to upgrade from vSphere 6.7 to 7.0
Hi Luis,
My dHCI stack was not sync with the catalog, so I could not make dHCI one click update .
So, here is what I have done (Nimble OS was at level 5.3.XXXXXX / ESXi @6.7 and vCenter @6.7)
- update SCM to v 7.0.2-7.00014 (ESXI to maintenance, apply, reboot, leave maintenance)
- update vCenter from 6.7 to last version of 7.0 (no reboot, quite simple)
- upgrade NimbleOS form storegae to 6.0.0.400-991061 (from the Nimble Storage admin interface) (transparent)
Last steps is to upgrade my ESXi from 6.7 to 7.0
I plan now to do using dHCI one click button probably to version 5.7.11.18.10.
Best regards
