NCM required for VMware that is FC connected?

I'm currently running with several ESXi hosts running vSphere 7 fiber-connected to a new Nimble array running 6.0.0.500-1005932-opt.

It isn't 100% clear from the documentation, but is NCM required to be installed on the hosts for FC-connected Nimble storage?

Use of NCM is recommended Best Practice.
If you are not going to install it, you will have to tweak the timeouts so failovers are without issue (one of the things NCM does). As far as I know, the settings are in the Integration Guide.

Well, if that isn't a convincing answer, I don't know what is. Thank you very much.
