Automating/scripting C7000 OA and VC configuration backups
Yep, there are still lots of C7000s out there. I have a new requirement to run regular OA and VC configuration backups. I manage too many C7000s to do this manually and regularly (say weekly). I need to back up SHOW CONFIG output for both the OA and the VC. Does anyone have a way to capture this output and store it to SFTP server, SharePoint, a server folder (maybe as a scheduled task), etc?

P.S. - we are not using OneView. These are all managed through the OA and VCM.

Re: Automating/scripting C7000 OA and VC configuration backups
Hello,
You may try the "Scripting Tools for Windows PowerShell: OA cmdlets", also refer to the "Scripting Tools for Windows PowerShell User Guide: OA Cmdlets v2.0 " and see if it is of assistance.
For more information on Scripting Tools for Windows PowerShell, you refer to the Scripting Tools for Windows PowerShell information library.
Regards,

Re: Automating/scripting C7000 OA and VC configuration backups
Thank you for your reply. I do see the Scripting User Guide documents a Get-HPEOAConfig cmdlet that I could use. I see nothing for the VC config though.
Would you know if there's a similar scripting tool for the VC?
I may also look into whether or not Putty could be automated to log in and captuer the SHOW CONFIG output for both. I know I can capture the output via Putty. Just not sure that both the login and capture can be automated.

Re: Automating/scripting C7000 OA and VC configuration backups
Hello,
This option is available in OneView.
For VCM, please find the backup recommendation

Thanks.

Re: Automating/scripting C7000 OA and VC configuration backups
Thank you for your response. I can certainly back up the VC config manually by logging in and capturing the config using a SHOW command. The question was more about how I might automate that process. Login, capture the SHOW CONFIG output, drop in somewhere (a folder, a SharePoint folder, etc.), on a schedule (e.g., weekly). I support too many C7000s to do this manually every week.

Hello,
The option for automatic backups is not available in VCM.
Thanks.
