Hi guys,
i would like to know on how to upgrade the current firmware of this switch to with new firmware
A5500SI-CMW520- R2221P04.bin(13mb).
as for compatibility of the new firmware, i've already asked HPtechub for series of documents which so far shows compatible.
deletion of unnecessary files were already tried as well as resetting the recycle bin to free up space for the new firmware.
another purpose of upgrade is to enable the new 10G module (JD368B); can't recognized by the switch

any help is greatly appreciated
thanks in advance ,

it looks that the flash cannot hold the old and the new image concurrently. So before loading the software you need to delete the old one.
<H3C-POE1-RPC>delete /unreserved s5500si-cmw520-r1207.bin
<H3C-POE1-RPC>ftp x.x.x.x
[ftp] get A5500SI-CMW520- R2221P04.bin
[ftp] bye
<H3C-POE1-RPC>boatloader file A5500SI-CMW520- R2221P04.bin
<H3C-POE1-RPC>save
<H3C-POE1-RPC>reboot
Thanks for the response! :)
do i have to boot the switch from extended BOOTROM? i heard that most of the H3C switches before have problems on firmware upgrades due to small size of flash. I it can detect the 10G SFP+ module upon upgrade.
an old post but it could be of a help for others
Yes you want to boot the switch from extended bootrom and load your .bin from there, I come across the same problem on a HP3600
