Issues configuring IRF on 2x FlexFabric 5940's

I have followed configuration examples I have seen for IRF trying to configure IRF for 2x HPE FlexFabrix 5940's. This includes reseting the configuration of both devices before beginning.

I get the following error and I can't find any information about it:

What examples exactly? did you followed tasks list reported on the HPE FlexFabric 5940 Switch Series IRF Configuration Guide?

Could you provide (sanitized) relevant (switch)configurations/(port)statues (as example: display irf, display irf topology, display irf link, display irf configuration, display version, and so on...) related to your two units?

Can you describe physical links (IRF Port 1 on Member 1 to IRF Port 2 on Member 2 and IRF Port 2 on Member 1 to IRF Port 1 to Member 2)? Cables used? QSFP+ Transceivers o DAC Cables?

I ran into the same issue today on the same 5940's. All of the IRF config was fine, interfaces restrictions followed. We saw the same messages you saw. If you see one the messages saud this :

The Vxlan mode configurations should be the same on devices in one IRF.Please check them on the neighbor device connected to IRF-port 1

In my case the following config on the switches :

Member 1:

hardware-resource vxlan l3gw16k

Member 2:

hardware-resource vxlan l2gw

We matced them up and IRF came up just fine.

The IRF configuration guide mentions the below :

Feature compatibility and configuration restrictions
Make sure the feature settings in Table 2 are the same across member devices.

Enhanced ECMP mode
Maximum number of ECMP routes
Table capacity mode
Support for the IPv6 routes with prefixes longer than 64 bits
System operating mode
VXLAN hardware resource allocation mode
