WX2200 controller

Hi,



Urgent, i have the Ap3750 and i plug in the 3com 2250 plus switch which defined as vlan 21. However my AP can't associate the configuration with the controller WX2200, and in my controller i can't even see the AP as well.



May i know what is the possible problem and what is the solution.



I had check the switch has trunk and tag with the vlan 21, the vlan configuration is ok.



another symptom is when i plug to another switch which also vlan 21 i able to associate it.

In default settings AP communicate on untaged vlan.

So every port to AP should be set as untaged in vlan 21.



Do you also have enabled auto AP function on WX2200 or you added Serial numbers manually?

Not knowing what your network setup is, there could be quite a few reasons. When it boots up the AP will get an IP address in VLAN 21 (you may wantbto verify that by plugging a PC on the sdame port as the AP , the PC gets an IP address in the right VLAN and can ping the WX2200 system IP address)

If the AP and the WX2200 system IP are in the same subnet then the AP will send an layer boradcast packet

and as lonmg as the AP is correctly defined in the WX then it should work.

However if the 2 IP addresses are not in the saem subnet then you will need to define an OPTION 43 in the DHCP server servicing vlan 21 to direct the AP to the WX2200 IP address or define a host entry in the DNS server to point to the WX2200.



If you are not sure I would sugges you call 3Com support and they will assist you.

Are you trying to configuring your AP as MAP or DAP.

If DAP then you need to type command "undo stp-edge port" on port of switch were you are connecting your DAP.
