Finding HP part numbers for 18Gb disks

I have 12 x 18Gb 15k RPM FC10 disks housed within FC enclosures and want to verify the HP part number for maintenance purposes. I've looked at ioscan and got a reference of ST318452FC for the 18Gb disks in question but I could really do with knowing the corresponding HP part number - I believe it's either A6488A or A5634A. Any idea's how I can do this ?

I don't know - maybe STM might show something. The only sure way I can think of is to physically examine the disk. If you pull it out of the enclosure, the HP part number(s) should be right there.

according to this pdf doc:

(if you search for the seagate part number in it, 2nd occurance will show you it is A6191A

You can check out http://partsurfer.hp.com and that does indeed show A6488A as:

Diskinfo is another way to get the disk vendor info. What is returned really depends on the firmware that is loaded on the disk. Usually HP is good about labeling the parts individually so that is the easiest way I know to get the actual hp part number. I would just reference the number from ioscan and diskinfo with the hp web sites mentioned above or call hp with that info.
