SCSI 2 or SCSI3
Hi all,
Can some one tell me how to find whether a particular disk is SCSI2 or SCSI3 complaint.

Some disks might specify it on there lable (ultra2, ultra3).
If not you can take the model of the drive for example: ST39102LC (segate 9G SC), go to Segate site and check the disk properties.
If the disk is inside a system, you can get the disk model by running "ioscan -funC Disk" or run diskinfo on the disk device file.

Hi,
it is always difficult to deal with the different SCSI naming, but I would do an internet search using the disk name/manufacturer/model.
SCSI2 is very old now and unlikely to find.
Example:
If you search for a ST336754LC drive, you will find it is a Seagate drive - the specs on the manufacture website will tell you it is an Ultra320 SCSI drive.
