I tested 3PAR7200 Node rescue.
Test environment: 3PAR OS 3.2.2MU4
Node1 SPI: SPI Image 4.8.38. Release version. 16:57:04 Jul 17 2015.
I replaced Node0 with a SPI Image 1.2.9 node.
It stopped with the following error.
+-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+
HP SPI Image 1.2.9. Release version. 10:55:06 Nov 16 2012.
+-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+
Booting from device 0, AHCI0Invalid boot sector.
Use "boot net install" to correct this.
*** Fatal error: Code 39, sub-code 0x10 (0).
AHCI0 MBR does not have a valid partition table
Disabled FSBC boot watchdog.
*** Fatal error: Code 39, sub-code 0x10 (0).
*** Fatal error: Code 39, sub-code 0x10 (0).
Disabled FSBC boot watchdog.
Whack>
However, when I put a SPI Image 4.8.38 Node into Node0, the node rescue completed successfully.
Isn't SPI Image 1.2.9. Node built into SPI Image 4.8.38 Node?
Can SPI Image 1.2.9. Node use 3PAROS 3.2.2?
We don't know which SPI Image can support which 3PAR OS.
Is there a support matrix for SPI Image and 3PAR OS?

Re: 3PAR Node rescue and Node SPI Image
Hi @555-denoh
Replying you for a old thread,
The errors you're encountering with the 3PAR7200 during the node rescue process suggest compatibility issues between the SPI (Service Pack Image) and the 3PAR OS version
Some key points to note is:
-Each SPI image is designed to work with specific versions of the 3PAR OS. An SPI image that is too old (like 1.2.9) may not support newer features or the underlying OS structure of a more recent 3PAR OS (like 3.2.2MU4).
- In your case, the SPI Image 1.2.9 is not compatible with the 3PAR OS 3.2.2MU4, which is why you are seeing boot errors when using it with that version.
- Since the SPI Image 4.8.38 completed the node rescue successfully, it confirms that it is compatible with the 3PAR OS version you are using. This image likely contains the necessary updates and configurations required for proper functionality.
- You might need to check the HPE 3PAR Storage System Compatibility Guide or Release Notes for specific information regarding supported versions.
I hope this helps, Let me know

SolutionHello .
This is Hajime Shimaya
Thank you for your advice.
We have solved this problem.
<>Purpose>
We need to execute 3PAR OS on a New 2 nodes for The inspection
<Action plan>
I installed the 3PAR OS 3.2.2 (eMU4) SSD of equipment 7200 in a new node(SPI 1.2.9).
I boot up it with that combination. After booting it, I will try to upgrade the SPI with the upgradecage command.
<Progress>
1. Insert the 3PAR OS 3.2.2 (eMU4) SSD of equipment 7200 into the two new nodes(SPI 1.2.9) .
2. Booted normally, and I found the update from SPI 1.2.9 to SPI 4.8.38 when the OS Booting up.
This is a behavior I hadn't noticed before.

The node port changed, so that's where the error occurred. Probably because the MAC address changed.
