problem adding another cpu to K260

I'm trying to add one additional cpu to a single processor K260 server. I've enabled the new CPU via ISL, "cpuconfig 1 on" command. After a reset I see that the 2nd cpu is still not functioning. I know that both CPUs are good cause when I boot the box with each they work perfectly. I've tried this on two separate K260's and I get the same problem. What am I missing? Appreciate your help.

Hi,

Pls chk if both of them are **claimed** by the system:

#ioscan -fk|grep -i proc

# ioscan -fk|grep -i proc

Are they of the same type? Post part numbers (seen on the CPU boards) here

Problem resoved! Thanks to all who responded. I've used a differnt spare CPU we had and they seem to work fine together. I guess it was due to a flaky CPU.

Re: problem adding another cpu to K260

Glad you solved it, but if the PDC (Processor Dependent Code) levels on each processor are incompatible that would do it as well.
