Solution
Oh My! You have got some very old equipment there.
The 7936 & 7937 drives are called Eagles. They have to have the heads parked manually before moving. Looking at the back, you stick a screwdriver into the upper right corner of the drive and flip a large switch. This parks the drives. Moving the drives without parking the heads turns them into so much scrap metal.
The 9144 tape drive takes a large cartridge and does not hold much data, either 16Mb or 67Mb (that's right, megabyte).
Plugging in 98562 into HPPartSurfer gets me two choices, a 330 or a 350 depending on suffix.
HP-IB cables are cheap and can be replaced by calling any one of a number of 3rd party refurbishers which run museums.......... er, stock parts, for these older machines. Suggest either a 1 or 2 meter cable. Keep it short as possible, there is a 4 meter limit.
Now as to documentation............. You wil not find any of the docs for this equipment on line, it is just too old. By running the part numbers through HPPartSurfer you can look under manuals or documentation and see what the part numbers for the docs are or you can call HP Parts Direct and use what we used to call Corporate Parts ID. They will assist you to the extent possible in identifying and purchasing the manuals.
Hmmmmm, two things. One, firing this equipment up will ensure that you don't need to heat your house this winter. Two, it would probably make a better boat anchor than a computer at this point. Have you thought about making a donation to the HP Memorial Fish Reef?

Re: Where can I get Docs. for this equipment....
Thanks for your help and so you know,
1. It's 98562X and
2. I'm tring to run NetBSD or Linux on it. The only thing is that I have kind of a wish list of things I would like to get ahold of for cheap.
(ATTACHED)
AND actually this Motorola chip line is still in a "supported" time span. I found out from somewhere (Don't rememeber where) that the support ends Oct. 2002. (I know, one year left to get any and all help I can from HP.)

Re: Where can I get Docs. for this equipment....
All the stuff on your list is available from Abtech Systems at 1-800-474-7397 www.abtechsys.com . I used to work there and know what the've got on hand.
On #7 & #8 you will have to use the graphics cards offerred by HP because of drivers. You can use monitors other than HP, BUT they must support a specific resolution and they must synch on green. Suggest you do a serious search for all the threads on this forum on this topic. Keywords: monitors, synch, green. You may be able to cobble a board together to separate out the synch on green signal. (HEY GUYS! where is that promised schematic?)
