1000SX port from Procurve 2524 to Procurve 2530-48G
Hi All,
I am planning to upgrade our 2524 switch to 2530s. We use 1000SX port for the uplinks to our core switch.
Currently 2524 has J4131B transceiver
New 2530 uses J4858C transceiver
Obiously fibre cable connectors are different. Is there some sort of cable converter? How do I reuse the same fibre cables?
Thank you,
Naz

Re: 1000SX port from Procurve 2524 to Procurve 2530-48G
Ideally you would have the installed fibres terminated on a patch panel, and you could just buy new patch leads. If you haven't then you'ld want a duplex, multimode LC to SC adapter.
