3COM compared to HP VLAN terminology
Hello all,
I am working to replace a switch that was damaged by lightning. The original switch is a procurve 2510g-48. The switch I bought is a 3COM E4210-48G. I have only two VLANs, One for our local Subnet, and another (vlan77) that connect via fiber to another campus (through another campus's switch....I know it's not the ideal setup :-) )
Here is the config from the original switch...
vlan 1
name "DEFAULT_VLAN"
untagged 1-44,46-47
ip address 172.16.1.188 255.255.255.0
tagged 48
no untagged 45
exit
vlan 77
name "Router Link"
untagged 45
tagged 48
exit
no matter what I try, I cannot get the remote network (handled by the router on vlan77) to come up.
here is the current switch's config...(port 44 and 49 on the new switch are the equivialant of ports 45 and 48 respectively on the old switch...
interface GigabitEthernet1/0/44
port link-type hybrid
undo port hybrid vlan 1
port hybrid vlan 77 untagged
broadcast-suppression pps 3000
undo jumboframe enable
stp edged-port enable
interface GigabitEthernet1/0/4
port link-type hybrid
port hybrid vlan 1 77 tagged
broadcast-suppression pps 300
undo jumboframe enable
stp edged-port enable
Any help, please! I am working on a Satuday and frusterated!!
Thank you in advance!!

Re: 3COM compared to HP VLAN terminology
Hi,
Try and use port link-type trunk instead
