Port Statistics Help
Hello,
I currently have some 8212zl and 3500yl switches that I would like to optimize in terms of unused ports. My question is what kind of show command could I use to identify any ports that have not received any traffic or have not been used in over a month or two. This would allow me to free up some interfaces on all of my switches which would help with business growth in the long run. I know something like Sh int | inc Fast|Last input might work on a Cisco switch, but I was just curious if anybody knew a best practice for determining such statistics on HP Procurve models. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks.

Re: Port Statistics Help
The wasy I used to do it was to clear the interface statistics and then mark my calendar to come back to that switch and do a show int to see ports that had seen no traffic.
I seem to recall that "clear statistics global" only clears the stats for your session, but I don't remember off the top of my head how I made sure the stats were cleared - probably a reboot, after a firmware upgrade.
