Vlan + 2910al-48G + P4300
Hello,
I'm new to VMWare and SAN's etc. Can someone please help me with my configuration.
I have just purchased the following for a new VMWare network:
2 x DL360 G6 with 4 NICs each
2 x HP 2910al-48G
1 x HP P4300 7.2 Starter San
I have placed everything in the rack and connected the network cables. I've had someone come in and set-up the SAN and LUN's, but we have ran into routing VLAN issues. We couldn't combine the SAN nodes into 1 management group until we placed the SAN (eg all 4 NIC's) on one separate switch with the configuration PC.
It's clear that I have a VLAN issue with my set-up but I don't know VLANs etc. I can't ping the VLAN iSCSI from the default VLAN. I don't know which ports I need to tag/untag etc ( I don't understand what the tagging does )on my VLAN configuration.
My end result is I would like to have 4 networks and mentioned in my VLAN's.
Do I need Flow control and Jumbo Frames, I beleive I do from what I have read. on these forums?
