I now have a blade enclosure cascaded off my EVA fabric. We've installed ESX v3 on one of the blades and have a couple of test VM servers. I want to use the EVA disk space to start looking into VMotion. To allow the ESX servers to have an EVA disk presented to it, do I need to install Secure Path on the Esx server, and if so, what OS version ? Thanks for any help!

Re: ESX v3.0.1, EVA3000 - Do I need Securepath??
Upgrade your EVA3K to latest VCS release and you'll never have to worry about expensive Securepath licenses or drivers either in VMware or Windows.
NB. Easy said and easy done IF you plan correctly.

Re: ESX v3.0.1, EVA3000 - Do I need Securepath??
Anyway, on my fibre switch, I've created a new zone that just includes the EVA, managment appliance and the new ESX server.
When I goto add a new host on the EVA, the WWN doesn't appear in the drop down so I've manually added the WWN, set the OS type to Custom and given a HEX value of 000000002200282E. I've created a VDisk and presented to this host.
Is there anyway of checking if the ESX server (ESX V3 by the way) can "see" it ? I've done a vmkfstools -s on the vmhba's, but nothing returned. Am I going down the right path?! Thanks for anymore help.
