HBA Agilent HHBA-510x (D8602AB) problem !!!!
Please help us about following problem.
We installed LX 6000r with W2K adv. and SAP r/3
running with VA 7400 and two brocade 16 port switch. We installed also two HBA with Autopath software. Costantly we got down described error in the system log. Is it serious problem ? What is solution?
"The device, \Device\Scsi\AFCW2K1, did not respond within the timeout period. "
"The device, \Device\Scsi\AFCW2K2, did not respond within the timeout period. "

Re: HBA Agilent HHBA-510x (D8602AB) problem !!!!
Hi,
This is a similar problem encountered
with Unix based systems connected to
Disk arrays. To stop the message being
received you will need to increase the
timeout period on your server.
Sometimes the default that is set is far
too low. I suggest you increase this
value to 180. This value seems to work
fine on HPUX based operating systems in
most cases.

Re: HBA Agilent HHBA-510x (D8602AB) problem !!!!
This error is normal if you are connected to disk array which cannot perform complex operation fast enough. For VA7400 this is not the case. For win2k D8602 driver must be 3.0.4107.0 and autopath version 1.03.00. If you have MSCS you must not use Autopath Load Balancing, only Prefered path is supported. Supported fibre channel topologies are private loot and fabric. If you have correct versions of driver and autopath try reseat or change GBIC. Faulty GBIC can cause this error too.
Changing default timeout will not solve the problem, it will only hide it. There is a readme file on driver diskette which explains how to do that.
