HBAs Compatible with 2003 Server

Hi

As above, what HBAs are compatible with Windows 2003 Server? (Also firmware levels)

Does HP have a page with this listing?

Thanks

Craig:

Hmmn... you'd probably be better off starting with the HBA itself - was there a reason for asking the question that way round?

For fibre HBAs I'd start at...

I work on a few SANs with various 1GB and 2GB HBAs, thus the "which is compatible with 2k3" as I am sure the road to 2k3 will happen soon.

It depends if you are talking disk or tape, however we try to keep the two (disk & tape) in sync.

The tape (Enterprise Backup Solutions) support matrix is here:
http://h18006.www1.hp.com/products/storageworks/tapecompatibility.html
which points to the following doc:

Thanks, that helps with the tape libraries, but would also like to know about SAN switches, NSR/MDR and I'm still checking out that link on the various Fibre HBAs. In particular the FCA2101 and the KGPSA-BC and CB's.

The NSR/MDR routers and switch support for tape is on the infrastructure page in the EBS matrix.

Re: HBAs Compatible with 2003 Server

I checked out the EBS matirx, which is good however it basically says that the various HBAs, etc are compatible under the backups products.

What I'm really after is a similar PDF (if its around), that lists the various OS accross the top instead of backup products.

The HBAs would be down one side with the various OS down the other - much like the Proliant OS Matrix.

Then I know what HBA has support for which OS. When you have many different types of HP branded fibre HBAs, ranging from 1GB KGPSA-BC to 2GB FCA2101, FCA2404 its good to have this doc as a lookup before installing them in any system

Re: HBAs Compatible with 2003 Server

Craig,

I agree with you - a matrix that covers HBAs from a higher level (e.g. not just tape) would be nice. I don't know if one exists (and I haven't been able to find one myself). I'll do some research on this.
