HP Openview Storage Virtual Replicator
Hi all experts,
Recently, we helped our client implement additional enclosure for their existing MSA1000. After adding in the MSA30, creating new ARRAY, creating new Logical Drive, adding Storage Units into the pool.. we found that it is not possible to increase the size of disk to any amount excedding 520GB.
There are over 700GB in the pool, and the max size for it to grow was till 520GB. We have another pool of 600GB, which could also grow to a max of 520GB, but that is reasonable due to the reserved space for snapshots.
Could there possibly be a limiation? or did we not do it right? But we could successfully grow the other disk in the other pool.
FYI, the MSA1000 is on the latest firmware 4.24 so are the HBAs and EMUs as well as the HBA Drivers.
Attached the screenshot for your viewing pleasure.

Re: HP Openview Storage Virtual Replicator
Virtual replicator reserves a percentage of the pool for snapshot area. By default it will reserve 30% of the pool space. This is a configurable parameter. A pool can be up to 8TB with each Vdisk being 2TB.

Re: HP Openview Storage Virtual Replicator
Thanks for the reply.
FYI, we have changed the Min free space in pool to 15% instead of 30%.
Also, the cli helps to workaround the bug. Now we are able to extend beyond 524GB. Thanks to HP Techsupport for providing the helpful workaround.
