Hello,
It been a while since I've had to do this type of thing. I need to give written instructions to engineers on the proper startup and shutdown procedures for a dual redundant MA8000. Anyone have any ideas on where I can find them. I have had to shutdown an HSG80 in years.
Thanks
Bing

Solution
- shut down all hosts
- connect to one of the controllers
- enter: "SHUTDOWN OTHER_CONTROLLER"
- enter: "SHUTDOWN THIS_CONTROLLER"
- turn off the power
- disable the cache batteries
-- assuming this is a modular array,
-- you have to temporarily pull them out
-- of the controller enclosure
- make sure the cache batteries are connected
- turn on power and wait 5 minutes
- boot the servers
- connect to one of the controllers
- enter: "SHUTDOWN OTHER_CONTROLLER"
- enter: "SHUTDOWN THIS_CONTROLLER"
- turn off the power

Re: HSG80 Shutdown and startup procedures
UWe,
Thanks
I didn't think there was too much to it. But I did want to be sure, I don't need no calls in the middle of the night.
