Incorrect display of available space in EVA 4100
We have two EVA-4100s installed (one in primary and the other in DR site).
There is only one disk group with 22 numbers of 146gb disks.
The total capacity is 2.5TB after the disk levelling(disk levelling is double).
I created some Vraid 5 luns , total of 200gb and some vraid 1 volumes total of 420gb.
All the luns are replicated to the DRS.
The thing is that I could see the available space as only 250gb (raid 0).
The command view version used is 7.0.
Anybody has a clue ?
Pls help.
Regards,
Ajith.

Re: Incorrect display of available space in EVA 4100
200 GB in RAID 5 + 420 GB in RAID 1 is 1090 GB used.
The replication is set as synchronous or asynchronous? The replication logs can take available space. Check in the DR group properties the used space by each DR group log.
If the numbers still do not add up, request HP to send an CE to perform a controller resinchronization, this is usually solved that way.

Re: Incorrect display of available space in EVA 4100
Thanx for your reply.
As you said nearaly 1.2 TB is seems to be missing.
Replication is set as aynchronous.
It doenst seems replication log is taking so much space. Log usage is near zero most of the time.
I also think the way is to resync the controllers.
Thanx..
Ajith.

Re: Incorrect display of available space in EVA 4100
We have one EVA with one disk group of 8 x 300 GB disks.
The total capacity is listed as 1675.73 GB.
We have 2 LUNS, one 890 GB (RAID5) and another 450 GB (RAID5).
Do these numbers seem correct or are we missing space? Can someone explain how the available space is calculated on EVAs?
Thanks

Re: Incorrect display of available space in EVA 4100
space usage : if you install "n" disk in EVA.
under "single protection" available space= "n-2"
under "dobule protection" available space= "n-4"
under "single protection"&"vraid5" available space= "n-2"*80%
under "single protection"&"vraid1" available space= "n-2"*50%
Regards.
