pvtimeout vs. async I/O

When setting the pvtimeout to a high or low value will this have any effect on async I/O as far as performance is concerned.

We are running Informix on a N4000 with a fibre connection to a VA7400 via brocade switches

No. pvtimeout simply specifies the interval required for an I/O request to timeout in the event that the physical disk is not available.
