SAN switch serial access

I've executed "msPlMgmtActivate", and after that I am unable to access my switch by telnet,
and when I put an notebook on the serial port, nothing happens.

Nmap shows:

[root@leandroc download]# nmap -P0 10.0.12.191

Starting nmap 3.70 ( http://www.insecure.org/nmap/ ) at 2004-10-15 16:56 BRT
Interesting ports on 10.0.12.191:
(The 1655 ports scanned but not shown below are in state: closed)
PORT STATE SERVICE
23/tcp filtered telnet
80/tcp filtered http
111/tcp filtered rpcbind
513/tcp filtered login
1008/tcp filtered ufsd
MAC Address: 00:60:69:22:35:16 (Brocade Communications Systems)

Nmap run completed -- 1 IP address (1 host up) scanned in 4.475 seconds
[root@leandroc download]#

The switch is an Compaq Storageworks SAN switch 8.

Any sugestions ?

Thanks.

Re: SAN switch serial access

just an idea: try to log on the lan with telnet and reset the parameter to see if it solve your problem

Re: SAN switch serial access

It is not accepting telnet connections. I did an tcpdump, and the packets go to the
switch, but do not return from it.

The switch and my host are on the same lan, no firewalls in the middle.

Re: SAN switch serial access

Try Browsing to the device rather than Telnet. But I don't know if there's a way of switching this off from the Browser.

Is there just one switch in the Fabric? If not, you should be able to issue the msPlMgmtDeActivate command from another switch.
