Drive configuration for Alletra 6000

Hello,

I think that Alletra 6000 could have 12 drives or 24 drives in the base enclosure.
If the base enclosure have 24 drives, how configuration is redundancy?
"24(21+3)" or "12(9+3) x2"?

Best Regards,

Re: Drive configuration for Alletra 6000

Hi,

it depends.

If you order it with 12 Drives (9+3) if order with 24 you got 21+3.

If you add later additional 12 Drives (maybe with a different capacity) to a 12 Drive configuration then you got a Drive Set A and B with each 9+3.

If the drive sets are both the same capacity and the array is reimaged in the field, the drives will be reconfigured into a single 21+3 RAID set.

Re: Drive configuration for Alletra 6000

HI,

Who performs the reimage process?
Can it be done by the customer or is it a process that HPE has to do?

Thanks and regards!!!

Open a Case, they will assist you.
In my Case (HPE Partner) we do it with Remote assistance from HPE Support.
As far I know, there is no way to do it completely on your own.

@Cali

Hi,
Thank you for your answer. I'm a partner too.
I have the doubt, what happens with the data? Is it lost?

Regards.
