infosight issue

Hello. The customer wants to build infosight.
The ports for running infosight have all been set up.
However, the details and the normal operation do not seem to be working.
I would like to check if infosight is working properly and monitoring is possible on the relevant equipment. Also, if it is not set up properly, I would like to know how to set it up.

Re: infosight issue

Hello,

Infosight is working fine as expected. There are firewall ports to be opened to HPE backend servers, below is the list.

Please make sure management IP and support IPs from both controllers have ports opened. Once done, it takes around 24 hours to reflect data.

Resource FQDN IP address Port

Autosupport & Heartbeat nsdiag.nimblestorage.com 198.54.168.5  443,ICMP

VMware streaming stats nsstats.nimblestorage.com 198.54.168.3  443

Secure Support Tunnel hogan.nimblestorage.com 198.54.168.101  2222

NOS software updates update.nimblestorage.com 198.54.168.30  443,ICMP

nsalerts nsalerts.nimblestorage.com 198.54.168.4  443

Re: infosight issue

How do I check if ports are open on the management IP and support IP of both controllers? Also, if you look at the attached photo above, the volume and pool do not appear to be normal. And if they are set up normally, I would like to know if the customer is contacted in case of a problem. Thank you.

Re: infosight issue

Hi, you need root access to the array to test using netcat.

To verify whether the required ports are open on the Management IP and Support IP of both controllers, you can use the following command from the controller CLI or any system within the same subnet:

# Example: Test connectivity from controller IP to Autosupport service
nc -zv -s <controller_mgmt_or_support_IP> 198.54.168.5 443

Re: infosight issue

The screen below should appear, but I can't see it. Is this because the port is blocked?

Volume and pool are not visible.

Please reply.

Re: infosight issue

Yes.
I did check status of array AF-305563, No data collection is happening.

Only hearbeats (every 5 min) seems to be working.

Re: infosight issue

Hello @Hdcom
You should enable firwall ports to nimble backend servers to enable data collection. Please note, all 3 IPs, management IP and 2x diagnostic IPs(both controllers) to be opened against each port.

Once done, with in 24-48 hours you should be able to see the data in infosight.

Re: infosight issue

Hello.
I ran the command to test the firewall, but an error occurred.
I opened the firewall again and the following test was completed.
Will data collection proceed in infosight now? Also, call home is disabled in infosight, so I want to know how to enable it.

Thank you.

After enabling dignostics for Analytics and reopening the firewall, it was successful.

Re: infosight issue

Hello,
Thanks for the update.
I can see that the auto support logs are coming in for the arary. Once the ports are opened, it would take around 24-48 hors. Let us check status after a day or two.
