Is there a simple CLI or GUI steps to take a 'spare' drive, and change it to be included in the data sets?

Re: Moving a spare disk into a raid set.
Hi bob425
Is this a Nimble Storage array?
Could you please specify its model?

Re: Moving a spare disk into a raid set.
Nimble arrays does not have the concept of dedicated spare disk, atleast from Nimble OS 2.1+.
If you are seeing a disk as spare, especially after a replacement, it is essentially pointing to a incompatible disk.
There are no work around available, the disk needs to be replaced.

Re: Moving a spare disk into a raid set. / Followup
The array model is CS240.
First spare sent was defective Customer returned original drive into array,, followed by good spare part.
Now the drive is a spare instead of being an active drive in the data sets.

It appears that wrong model number is being used.
