Re: StorageWorks 64-Bit/66-Mhz Fibre Host Bus Adapter
I thought the HBA was most likely Emulex or QLogic, but neither HBAnywhere or SANsurfer were able to identify the HBA. I was able to interpret the WWN using the article below:
http://www.techworld.com/storage/features/index.cfm?featureid=156&pagtype=samecatsamechan
WWNs for these cards are IEEE Registered Names (NAA=5) and section 2 of the WWNs (00-50-8B) is documented by IEEE (http://standards.ieee.org/regauth/oui/oui.txt) and lists Computer Corporation as the manufacturer.
I'll download the LPUTILNT file to see if that works. I've also submitted a question to HP technical support on the matter. Thank you for your response.

SolutionI think you have the following Adapter 120186-B21. This adapter was for Raid Array RA4x00 and RA8000 under NW. Lputil or some other HBA utilities will not work with this adapter. It is some times ago I work with these adapters. Chipset was from Tachyon, i believe. These adapters will not work with new Storage systems like MSA1x00 and EVA.
Quickspecs are attached.

Re: StorageWorks 64-Bit/66-Mhz Fibre Host Bus Adapter
Thanks for the QuickSpecs. I'm sure you're right about these HBAs. I hadn't planned on trying to reuse them, but wanted to know how to interrogate them to identify the WWN for our inventory documentation.
I guess it really doesn't matter since we don't use them anymore. We have a few servers that still use this class of HBA to connect to an RA4x00 through the 7-port hubs, but these should be replaced once we implement an enterprise storage array in our environment. Thank you again for your response.
