hi
When installing simplivity 380gen10 4.2, the following message appears.
Could this be because RAID1 is not clean?

Re: 8 of 43 install error
Hi mblee,
Ideally, the error caused at step 8 of HPE SimpliVity deployment is because of not having a clean RAID set before starting the deployment.
If they are Proliants, you need to make sure to delete both the front and back RAID sets and only recreate the rear RAID set again before starting the deployment (RAID 1).
Additionally, make sure the tiny image .img file is always mounted during the process of deployment (if you are doing it via network attaching the image) or the USB drive is always connected to the host.
If you look at the back of the server, is the accelerator card present? do you see green lights for the accelerator card? Make sure it is on and in good health.
Try powering off the node unplugging it for 15 minutes and retry the deployment. You could also try to reseat the accelerator card.
Also, try removing the power completely from the system and power back on. Make sure accelerator card is green.
If this does not work, I recommend reaching out to HPE SimpliVity support for further assistance.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Sanika.

Re: 8 of 43 install error
thank you for you answer
However, the accelerator card was not installed.
It doesn't do compression or deduplication, but I know it can be installed without mounting it. Is it absolutely necessary?

SolutionHi mblee,
You are correct. It is not necessary to have an accelerator card installed. The recommended solution was in case you get errors in step 5 as well of the deployment. As this is passed already, it is fine to ignore this.
For your query, just make sure you delete both the front and back RAID sets and only recreate the rear RAID set again before starting the deployment (RAID 1) also ensure the tiny image .img file is always mounted during the process of deployment (if you are doing it via network attaching the image) or the USB drive always connected to the host.

Sanika.
