Hi
We need to change the root passwords for the VCSA that our SimpliVity hosts use.
Is there anything (any commands) that need to be run on the OVCs if only the VCSA root passwords are changing. We are not changing the ESXi root passwords nor are we chaning the Administrator@vsphere.;local passwords
many thanks in advance

SolutionHello @CadenLange
If you are only changing the VCSA root password and not the Administrator@vsphere.local password or the ESXi root passwords, I think no direct configuration changes are typically required on the OVCs. The VCSA root password is used to access the Linux shell of the VCSA appliance. This password is not typically used by SimpliVity OVCs to communicate with vCenter. Instead, OVCs use the Administrator@vsphere.local account or another vSphere account configured in the SimpliVity Federation for API calls and management.
You can change the VCSA root password using the built-in command-line interface or by rebooting the appliance and modifying the boot parameters, which is a common procedure for VCSA.
For further assistance, I recommend reaching out to HPE SimpliVity support.
Regards,
Sanika.
