Hello,
i want to deploy a single host for DR site. The node has no 10G network card, only 4x1G present in the configuration, validated by HPE.
The déployment manager demande to select 10g for Storage and Faderation network.
Is it possible to deploy a single node without 10 NIC?
Deployment Mnaganer 4.1.1.468
Simplivity 380Gen10
Omnistack 4.1.0.266
ESX 7.0.3
Thanks

Re: Sibgle host deploiment without 10G NIC
Hi
from experience you must install a 10GB network card for
storage and federation and you can remove it once everything
is working
Regards
Give a KUDO if this helps

Re: Single host deploiment without 10G NIC
Hi Major88
While it is technically possible to deploy a single node HPE SimpliVity cluster with only 1 Gbps network interfaces, it is not recommended. HPE SimpliVity recommends that each node in a cluster have at least two 10 Gbps network interfaces - one for storage traffic and one for federation traffic.
The reason for this recommendation is that HPE SimpliVity is designed to provide high-performance and low-latency data transfer between nodes in a cluster, and this is achieved by using high-speed network interfaces. By using only 1 Gbps network interfaces, you may experience lower performance and higher latency, which can impact the performance of your virtual machines and data protection operations.
If you still want to proceed with the deployment using only 1 Gbps network interfaces, you can try to select the 1 Gbps interfaces for storage and federation traffic during the deployment process. However, be aware that this configuration is not officially supported by HPE SimpliVity, and you may encounter issues or reduced performance.
Hope this helps.!!
Regards
Mahesh
