Re: vcenter doesn't show raid controll HPE Smart Array P816i-a SR Gen10
Hi
In simplivity the shared disks are controlled by the simplivity controller you do not see these disks under
the esxi software even if you connect via CLI to the HPE smart controller you only see the local disks
where the software is and the local datastore and not the shared disks that are controlled by Simplivity
software.. you can see everything through the ILO.
Regards
Give a KUDO if this helps

Re: vcenter doesn't show raid controll HPE Smart Array P816i-a SR Gen10
1.If disk fail, use iLO monitor page only ?
2.I would like to know about config raid. When installing, I don't understand why in iLO there are 3 logical volumes, each volume has 9 disks, actually only 9 physical disks.
3.So each host disk can fail 2 disks, right? Because it is raid 6.
Or is there any documentation I can't seem to find about raid ?
I don't quite understand the concept
thank you

The array controller for the front disks is configured as a Passthrough device, so you can see it under Hardware>PCI devices>Passthrough-enabled devices.
Those 3 partitions are created on those 9 disks, the largest one is the data partition. It has RAID 6 so yes, it can tolerate up to two disk failure.

SolutionSo, 1 host will have about 13.44 TB of space. i have host in cluster 3 node so 3x13.44 = 40.32 TB but HPE SimpliVity Federation page only shows 29 tb which should be about 40 tb why?
Is there anything I should check?
thank you
