SSP 2024.07.03??
On the download page, I see there is a newer Synergy SPP 2024.07.03?
On the Fixes tab, I see:
HPE Synergy Service Pack (SSP) 2024.07.03 addresses the following issue:
- Unable to update the HPE Synergy Frame Link Module (FLM) firmware due to invalid parameters supplied to the smart component. See the following customer advisory for more information concerning the referenced firmware installer issue: Customer Advisory a00142038.
Note: if you have already successfully installed FLM FW version 5.00.00, updating from previous version of SSP 2024.07.xx to 2024.07.03 does not provide any additional benefit.
This looks like it would be the second revision to the first 2024.07.01 release. I would think HPE would work out these issues prior to a SSP release. It also gives credit to the advice of staying one revision behind.

Re: SSP 2024.07.03??
Yeah, this has been very frustrating for us too. It take us almost 6 months to roll out a SSP, between composer changes, virtual connect updates, and host updates. To see they are so untested does not inspire confidence. The composer also has an update almost monthly now. I'm wondering if it is because the customer base is shrinking so they just dont vet these as well as they use too. Or maybe because they have such a large volume of revisions and possible customer variations of those revisions. Either way, lack of AMD support and the bugginess of the platform have been a huge headache this year.

Re: SSP 2024.07.03??
2024.07.02 was to add functionality of a new operating system version. It has nothing to do with the new issue found that was fixed in .03
What the FLM advisory doesn't mention is that the failure situation is rare but has occurred (1 in 100 chance). We believed it best to fix it and re-release rather than wait a quarter or more until the next receipe because the cost to fix and fully validate was extremely low and therefore the benefit is worth the effort.
If you have already updated using 2024.07.01 there is no need to take any further action until you need a new version or a fix in the future. It is highly likely you will continue to see these minor version updates to accomodate new OS versions later this year and next as our partner OS version schedules don't always align.
