Synergy Mezzanin card replacement

Hello Specialists,

Is it mandatory to unassign the profile from a Compute node if a Mezzanin must be replaced.

Re: Synergy Mezzanin card replacement

Hi @ZraunigA

When replacing a mezzanine option card in an HPE Synergy , it is not mandatoryto unassign the profile from the compute node. Here are the steps to replace the mezzanine card:

  1. Power down the compute module.
  2. Remove the compute module and place it on a flat, level work surface.
  3. Remove the access panel.
  4. Remove the mezzanine option card.
  5. To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure.

Keep in mind that the system may request a recovery method during mezzanine card replacement. If you encounter any issues, consult the HPE documentation or seek professional assistance.

You can check the HPE documentation as well: https://support.hpe.com/techlib/docs/synergy/660_Gen10/msg/GUID-B5CC60CD-FD75-4581-B4FD-B3AE306024CD.html

While this is correct, the only time you need to unassign the profile is if the mezz is a different vendor and or type. You would also need to create a new server profile if that's the case because the server hardware type will change.
