Procedure to change the IP Address of the IMC Server?

Hi All,

I have installed a standard IMC 5.2 server in centralised mode with no addons.

There is a chance I may need to change the IP address of the server. Is there a standard process available to do this? Coudl anyone point me to it?

Failing that, and also disregarding external dependencies below, would simply backing up the DB, changing the IP onthe Windows server (2008 R2), re-installing IMC with same version, then restoring the DB back on to the server do the job?

Dependencies I have thought of that needs updating

- Syslog pointers per device

- SNMP traps per device

- RADIUS  client IP (for authentication of operators)

- Re-host licenses

Thinking about it some more, I think the backup/restore approach might work. That gets used if you're doing active/standby replication with IMC. Can't guarantee it will fix everything.

As I understand it, the license won't need changing, as the key is not based upon IP address.

If you're going to update all your devices too, I wonder if it might be a better option to install a new system, and migrate configuration? Depends how much config and data you've got, and if you don't mind losing some data.
