Can't add toolbars to taskbar in Win 95

I am having the same problem after restoring my hard drive from the recovery disk. When I right click on the taskbar, I don't have an option to add toolbars. The fix that worked then won't work now, however, because IE 4.x is no longer downloadable from Microsoft! Amazing how much I miss my quicklaunch toolbar. Any ideas?

Active desktop was first incorporated in IE 4.0. This means that if you install a later version (5.0, 5.5, 6.0) you should have the option of installing active desktop.

My recovery disk had IE 3. Of course I upgraded back to 5.5 immediately; when I did that, the active desktop option wasn't even a choice. So I read the forum messages from November 2000, removed IE5.5, and attempted to load 4 - then planned, per the advice, to redownload 5.5 and keep the active desktop. But there is no IE 4 to download any more. So I reloaded 5.5 and asked for help.

You can try this site to see if you can get IE 4.01

That link (as well as several others I tried) all used the microsoft.com download. I have called my ISP and combed through the old stuff at work and haven't been able to dig up a CD with IE4 on it, but that is probably the answer. How about I keep looking for a while and I'll write back if I can't find one? Thanks for your help!
