Hi all,
Are the drive models compatible with msa2050 below?
1) HPE MSA 1.2TB 12G SAS 10K SFF(2.5IN) DUAL PORT ENTERPRISE 3YR WARRANTY HARD DRIVE (EG1200JEMDA)
2) HPE MSA 4TB 12G SAS 7.2K LFF (3.5IN) MIDLINE 1YR WARRANTY HARD DRIVE (ST4000NM0034)
3) HPE MSA 6TB 12G SAS 7.2K LFF(3.5IN) MIDLINE 1YR WARRANTY HARD DRIVE (ST6000NM0095)
4) HPE MSA 400GB 12G SAS ME-2 LFF (3.5IN) ENT MAINSTREAM CONVERTER CARRIER 3YR WARRANTY SOLID STATE DRIVE (MO0400JEFPA)
On spec, it looks like everything except SSD.

Re: LFF & SFF compatibility with MSA2050
Hi,
MSA 2050 might go with either SFF chassis or LFF chassis.
The additional disk enclosures could also be either SFF or LFF models.
The below mentioned drives are compatible with MSA 2050 based on the chassis type:
Please go with either part number or option part number rather than drive vendor internal model number.
Option part number: J9F48A - HPE MSA 1.2TB 12G SAS 10K SFF(2.5IN) DUAL PORT ENTERPRISE 3YR WARRANTY HARD DRIVE - EG1200JEMDA
Option part number: K2Q82A - HPE MSA 4TB 12G SAS 7.2K LFF (3.5IN) MIDLINE 1YR WARRANTY HARD DRIVE - ST4000NM0034
Option part number: J9F43A - HPE MSA 6TB 12G SAS 7.2K LFF(3.5IN) MIDLINE 1YR WARRANTY HARD DRIVE - ST6000NM0095
400GB SSD drives listed in older MSA 2050 quickspecs sheet is listed below:
N9X95A - HPE MSA 400GB 12G SAS Mixed Use SFF (2.5in) 3yr Warranty Solid State Drive
P9M79A - HPE MSA 400GB 12G SAS Mixed Use LFF (3.5in) Converter Carrier 3yr Wty Solid State Drive

Re: LFF & SFF compatibility with MSA2050
Hi Abelono,
These drive types are supported in MSA 2050. And also SSDs are supported as well.

HPE SD 1.92TB SAS RI 12G SFF R0Q47A SSD is compatible with MSA 2050?
Hi,
HPE SD 1.92TB SAS RI 12G SFF R0Q47A SSD is compatible with MSA 2050?
It is on the compatibility list for the MSA 2060, but not the MSA 2050. In MSA 2050 I find R0Q37A
thanks..

Re: HPE SD 1.92TB SAS RI 12G SFF R0Q47A SSD is compatible with MSA 2050?
@Lucianorclima
Probably the best way to confirm compatibility is to use the MSA Firmware site: https://www.hpe.com/storage/MSAFirmware
Go down to the MSA Drives
Find your drive model or drive SKU
Then compare that to the SKUs listed on the MSA generation QuickSpecs
MSA 2050: https://www.hpe.com/psnow/doc/a00008276enw
MSA 2060: https://www.hpe.com/psnow/doc/a00094629enw.pdf
The MSA 2060 (Gen6) and MSA 2050 (Gen5) use completely different drive carriers so an MSA 2050 drive will not work in an MSA 2060 but some of the drive models will be in multiple SKUs which may have both a Gen5 and Gen6 options. Please doublecheck you are purchasing the correct SKU for your generation of system.
