One disk in the RAID-6 disk group failed. Reconstruction has started.
- Allow the reconstruction to complete before performing other maintenance operations on this disk group or data may be at risk.
- Replace the failed disk if this has not already been done and configure the new disk as a spare so the system can use it in the future if another disk failure occurs. (Look for event 8 in the event log to determine which disk failed.)

The disk group is quarantined.
- Look for events in the event log related to quarantine (172, 485, or 590) and follow the recommended actions for those events.

Removing this disk group from quarantine will take the disk group offline and could result in irreversible data loss.

Re: MSA 2040 Storage Pools and disk group unable to delete
Hi Pradeep,
You could try a graceful power cycle of the MSA and attached disk enclosures after shutting down controllers to check whether the disk group moves out of quarantine state. Power on sequence would be disk enclosures first and then controller enclosure. Ensure that all disks that are part of the disk group is being detected. If issue persists, only option would be to log an HPE support case to use advanced engineering commands to delete the quarantine disk group and pool.

Re: MSA 2040 Storage Pools and disk group unable to delete
Hi Pradeep,
Unfortunately, commands like restore defaults will not help in deleting the Pool.
Please log an HPE support case to check for options to delete disk group/Pool using advanced engineering commands.
