MSA 2060 controller alert but health ok? (plus other buggy issues noticed)
I notice on the 2060 there is an active health alert "The controller is not operational." for controller a but the system health is all ok. I have acknoledged it but it remains on the dashboard. The hardware screen suggests both controllers are opeerational. system health is good.
I get the feeling the MSA1060 and MSA2060 are buggy compared to the 1040/2040. I've noticed random issues with these as I have been setting them up. Some of the issues I've noticed:
- Loading overlay bar sometimes doesnt load, multiple page refreshes needed
- controller crashed when expanding disk groups
- random firmware update notifications (some drives, not others, not even latest versions for some)
- no errors and success message adding disks to group but then it just doesnt add them and then an error message in the log appears (Disk Group: An expand-disk-group job failed. Command failed. (error code: 1) (disk group: dgA01)
- Right now I'm unable to expand the disk group and every attemp fails
- as above dg is in a bad health due to iminent disk failure on 1 drive but cannot expand it with spare drives in the unit.
- controller timeouts
Generally just a bad experience so far with the new generation of MSA's and lack of help/replies from the MSA health check team (yeah thats another issue that you cannot upload logs of a 1060 or 2060 to the msa health check site) Edit: Seems like my upload issue was due to a local firewall messing with the logs being uploaded.
