LC2000 and long continuous beeps
Hello,
I have HP Netserver LC2000 on which i had recently replaced the systemboard. It had a problem with on-board video controller. Besides, the server continiously produced long beeps. I desided, that this (beeps) was happening due to the fact that the server had no hard drive installed, and that was normal reaction of NetRAID-1M controller to the absence of hard drives. Now i got the following picture: the netserver has a new systemboard, no problem with video, but i still have these long continuous beeps on powering the server on and operating system doesn't start though previous configuration of logical drives stored in NVRAM of RAID controller hasn't been damaged. What can cause this problem and can solve it? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Re: LC2000 and long continuous beeps
Boris,
Do you get the beeps without the netraid-1m installed? Take system down to base configuration of no PCI cards, 1 stick memory, no hard drives installed and clear the CMOS and flash the bios. If you are still getting the beep code after clearing CMOS and flashing bios at a base config, then you have a failed system board. Is it an HP system board and if so, what is the part number?
I would suspect it is the Netraid with a hdd showing failed. Clear the config, recreate and reinstall your operating system and restore from backup.
Bios is available here:

Ciao,
Greg

Re: LC2000 and long continuous beeps
Hi Greg
The solution proved to be rather simple. I had to clear records about logical drives in nvram and then recreate those drives just as they were. After these manipulations the system started OK (no beeps) and operating system loaded fine. So i had not had to restore my server from smartstart (as you recomended). Otherwise i would loose valueable data. Thank you anyway!
