PCI bus on a LC3 server

I'm planning on upgrading my LC3 and adding Ultra160 scsi controllers and GB ethernet cards and am wondering if this is supported by the PCI bus on my D6125 netserver?

There haven't been either tested on the server. You can attempt to install these components into the system, but HP will not support them. Here is the tested products list for the LC3:

Re: PCI bus on a LC3 server

The only Ultra3/160 SCSI controller tested & supported by HP in the Netserver LC3 is the NetRAID-1M & 2M controllers. 1GB NICs were not tested, so there is unfortunately no information on GB ethernet cards with the LC3.
This may be helpful:

I/O: 32-bit, 5 volt. PCI spec 2.1
PCI slots 1-4 are on Bus 1
PCI slot 5 & 6 are on Bus 0

Re: PCI bus on a LC3 server

hi,
Take in mind that these are hight speed i/o devices, and problably will be used to connect hught speed Lan and Hight speed Tape device.
As the server is not very powerfull related to new ones, probably you will run onto performance problem even if you could configure the server in order to manage these interfaces

Re: PCI bus on a LC3 server

Yes the server is a network backup server with 2 HP surestore lib's with a total of 4 DLT7000s. Current config has 4 2940 controllers and a HP 10/100 running half duplex due to software issues. I need to increase my speed to reduce my backup windows. I'm planning on 2 29160n's and an intel PWLA8492MT
