Problem with raid5 on a netserver LCII
On a netserver LCII, we had change a hdd who is failed. However, the raid5 cannot rebuilt on automatic and manuel mode. It makes 90% and the error message appears.
How could we rebuild the raid5 without loose any data

Re: Problem with raid5 on a netserver LCII
This is most likely due to errors in the RAID data. Most of our customers see this when they have not run data consistancy checks in the NetRAID Assistant on a regular basis. For example, the RAID has found 2 pieces of data that shold be the same but are not. It will try and read again and again and again until it gives up. This can be a sign that one of the other drives has a bad sector and you should consider replacing all the drives now.
The only recovery is to backup the RAID5. Delete the RAID set from the configuration and then reconfigure the RAID set, then Intitialize and restore the data.
No data lost will occure.
